EPDM
- rubber roofing used to waterproof roofs
- either fully cured prior to being installed or cures during natural weathering after installation
- single ply membrane
- most common of low slope roofing materials (relatively inexpensive, easy to install, and clean to work with when compared to built up roofs)
- sometimes ballasted (rock covered)
- varying lifespan depending on type of building, foot traffic, ponding water (if applicable), evaporation of water, and climate of area
- typically last 12-25 years
- Designed to combine the durability of EPDM with the proven performance or hot air weldable seams
- excellent resistance to ozone, algage resistant, environmentally friendly, safe to install
- seam strengths reportedly 3-4 times those of EPDM’s adhesive and tape seams
- highly resistant to tears, impacts, punctures
- installed fully adhered, mechanically attached, or ballast
- life of 10-20 years
